I decided to take a break from writing about my own wedding and just post some wedding-related poetry. Ok, so these words do have to do with my wedding, because I plan on using them.
My fiance is of Irish descent (and he has a lot of Irish), so I decided to incorporate this supposedly Irish wedding vow into my wedding:
By the power that Christ brought from heaven, mayst thou love me. As the sun follows its course, mayst thou follow me. As light to the eye, as bread to the hungry, as joy to the heart, may thy presence be with me, oh one that I love, 'til death comes to part us asunder.
I'm using this as well:
Mark 10:6-9
From the beginning of creation God made them male and female. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife; and they shall be on flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let no man put asunder.
And no wedding is complete without Shakespeare:
Sonnet 116
Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:
O, no! It is an ever-fix'd mark,
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wandering back,
Whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken.
Love's not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle's compass come;
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom.
If this be error and upon me prov'd,
I never writ , nor no man ever lov'd.
Just some little words of love I'd thought I'd share. Hope you enjoy. :)

Pearls!

So awhile ago, back in October, I was bopping around downtown Lewiston with my mom and my future mother-in-law. We happened to stroll into an antique shop (Bargain Hunter Mall by Sage Bakery) and they had the most amazing, astounding collection of pearly wedding things! Tucked in a corner in the back of the shop, they had this little room closeted off, and when I walked in, I was completely flabbergasted. For the record, I LOVE pearls. Before we got engaged, my fiance gave me a pearl ring. But anyway, it was pearls galore there! I bought several things ("It's your day!"), including this necklace.
By the way, I don't plan on wearing this on my wedding day. I'm wearing my mother's pearls instead. Something old and borrowed!
